INTERNSHIPS
Each Spring and Summer semesters, we welcome college sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a passion for global health and female empowerment to join our team as interns. Remote internships are generally 16 weeks in length and the student is expected to complete at least 160 hours by the end of their semester. Students may be able to earn credit but final approval is dependent on the student's college or university. On-site internships are generally 8-12 weeks for a minimum of 240 hours. When we have availability, our announcement will be posted on Idealist under our fiscal sponsor, Empowerment WORKS.
GLOBAL HEALTH INTERNSHIP
- Remote or On-Site in Kenya -
Health care and public health students are invited to apply for our global health internships which can be performed remotely or on-site, depending on the desires of the intern and the needs of the project. The intern will design, implement, and evaluate public health programs, create culturally appropriate health education materials, and if on-site, may volunteer at The Wilson Center.
FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
- Remote -
We’re looking for finance, business, and international affairs majors who would like to gain experience with fundraising for a nonprofit. The ideal candidate is a creative individual with excellent communication skills. The intern will promote fundraising events and activities, assist with grant applications, and virtually collaborate with our Development Officer in Kenya. This is a remote internship with the option to organize and host in-person events on your college campus or within your community.
Volunteer with us in Kenya
We're accepting applications from clinical and public health professionals for our next volunteer voyage August 15-29, 2025. College students in health-related majors are also welcome to apply. We're seeking volunteers to help with:
Creating visually appealing and culturally appropriate health education materials
Providing health education education to women and girls within our community on a variety of women's health topics
Working in our women's health clinic as a physician, nurse practitioner, physician's assistant, nurse, or medical assistant *
Providing counseling services and support to survivors of gender-based violence.*
Delivering training and technical assistance to our healthcare providers and community health workers.
Planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programming.
